Advent - a very special time in the Salzkammergut lake district 

In contrast to many countries and indeed parts of Austria, Advent in the Salzkammergut Lake District is not about hurrying from one shop to the other in a desperate attempt to get everything done in time for Christmas. Advent here is a peaceful time of year where you meet with friends for a warming drink at a Christmas Market, or chose small handmade gifts for your loved ones from one of the many handicraft stalls. Enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere at the Land-Hotel Schützenhof, in Fuschl am See and visit the Advent & Christmas markets in the surrounding villages. 

Advent On Lake Wolfgangsee

The three villages of St. Gilgen, Strobl and St. Wolfgang, which lie directly on the shores of the Wolfgangsee Lake, invite you to their annual Advent and Christmas Markets. Every Advent weekend, commencing on 24th November, the markets will really put you in the mood for Christmas with hand-made presents, mulled wine and traditional Austrian winter snacks.

Advent in Ausseerland - A particularly traditional advent

Here you will find the Advent markets as they used to be in the Salzkammergut villages of Bad Aussee, Bad Mitterndorf, Grundlsee, Altaussee, Tauplitz from December 2^nd to 24^th small, traditional, peaceful and calm.  

Advent 2008 in Mondsee

The Advent market in Mondsee is a long standing tradition among locals and visitors alike. The market is located in front of the Basilica of St. Michael, a former convent (a location from the Sound of Music) which gives the Advent Market in Mondsee a very special flair.
