The internationally famous "Gut Aiderbichl" animal sanctuary has been open since the year 2000. It is an animal hospice of a very special kind whose aim is to make people think about and re-think the way animals are treated in our society.   Its founder Michael Aufhauser built the sanctuary with private funds and since then the project has steadily grown providing more than 1000 saved animals a home. All the animals at Gut Aiderbichl have a moving and sometimes tragic history but now the animals roam the 100 hectares of land freely and happily and enjoy the shelter of their spacious stalls and barns.
